The American Legion is a worldwide organization of over 2.4 million veterans dedicated to serving veterans. We stand on our four founding Pillars:

The Department of Missouri American Legion is headquartered in Jefferson City. From this location they can be available for the state legislature on a moments notice to answer questions regarding veterans and veterans affairs. Whenever an issue affecting Missouri's veterans arise, the Department's staff is there to protect our rights and benefits.

The vision of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion while becoming the premier service organization and foundation of every community providing support for our veterans, our military, and their families by shaping a positive future in an atmosphere of fellowship, patriotism, peace and security.

What if you are not a veteran? If your parents or grandparents served in the US military and were eligible for membership in the American Legion, then the SAL may be for you. This organization consists of male descendants of all ages whose purpose is assist the American Legion with their programs. If you have ever wanted to be involved with helping our veterans, their families, or our country but felt that you wouldn't belong because you're not a veteran, this organization may be right for you.

One of the most visible members of the American Legion family is the American Legion Riders. This is an organization made up of Legion family members that share a love of motorcycles and charity. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for children' hospitals, veterans homes, wounded service members and scholarships. Their annual Legacy Run is a multistate, multiday, motorcycle run to raise awareness and funds to aid their charitable work. If you enjoy motorcycles and fun then the Riders might be for you.
